Fashion for a day at the races

Posted In: Fashion

We all know that going to the races has little to do with admiring the horses (although the jockeys can be cute). Whilst having a flutter is a fun element of the day, the real treat is getting dressed up to look fabulous and choosing that perfect dress for the races or raceday outfit.

Ombre Dress

Ombre Dresshaving a flutter is a fun element of the day, the real treat involved in taking a day at the races is getting dressed up in one’s finery and looking fabulous.

Now, the regular outfit for a lady at the races usually comprises a suit in a pastel tone, or a shift dress and jacket, complete with beige courts and a hat. Nothing wrong with that of course, and classic style has its place, but what about wearing something marvellous to help you stand out from the crowd?

Many racecourses require ladies to wear dresses or skirts of a certain length and to cover their heads. Despite these confines, you can be creative when choosing an outfit for a day at the races.

This season’s maxi dress is the perfect trend for ladies who race. It looks incredibly sexy even though it keeps you covered up – so you still can look modest enough to be called into the royal enclosure (fingers crossed, eh?). Choose a maxi dress with straps around the shoulders or neck for a bit of extra security, as you might be jumping up and down with joy if your horse wins!

We really like this Ombre Dress. Its shaded colour scheme is sure to help you stand out from the crowd and its chiffon material is gorgeous and feminine.
