You’ll need:  a roasting tin

Ingredients

6 hot cross buns
25g butter
75g dark chocolate chips
2 large egg
250ml milk
1 tbsp caster sugar

Optional

  • For a really moist pudding add custard
  • For a grown up kick add a touch of brandy
  • Add cinnamon or vanilla for an extra sweet treat

Method

  1. Preheat the oven to 170c (gas mark 3)
  2. Cut the hot cross buns in half & butter each side
  3. Sprinkle over half of the chocolate chips and sandwich back together in the baking dish
  4. In a bowl beat the egg, milk and sugar together
  5. Pour over the hot cross buns and scatter the remaining chocolate chips
  6. Bake for 30-35 minutes until everything has set

It’s that easy, serve it on its own or if you fancy with cream, vanilla ice cream or custard. Whatever takes your fancy!
