When it comes to those special occasions we all struggle with what to wear. The invitation may say “black tie” but what does that really mean? Or what exactly is “smart/casual”?
Now we’re coming into the Summer there’ll be lots of occasions coming up (and of course you’ll need a new outfit!)
We’ve put together a list of dress codes for your special occasion alongside some of our favourite occasion dresses to get you started!
Black Tie
This is often a high glamour, formal event where ladies can be the belle of the ball! It’s perfect for formal dinners, dances or weddings.
The occasion dress: With so much ladies fashion around, the dress is the most important aspect. Get this right and you will sparkle all night long! An evening dress is perfect here; go for a full flowing occasion dress in a luxury material like silk or chiffon.
This Together Long One Shoulder Dress is one of our favourite occasion dresses – the one shoulder is a modern take on the classic gown.
The shoes: If you’re going for a full flowing dress, go for a mid of high heeled shoe for maximum affect. Make sure you choose a style that compliments your dress.

The bag: Our ladies dresses will be complemented with a small clutch bag, although it needs to be big enough to fit your essentials in!

Smart/Casual
This dreaded “Smart/ Casual” dress code can be a tricky one, you need to find the perfect balance between smart and casual and finding the dress that does that can be an event in itself! Occasions that require smart/casual can be a business event, dinner parties or even a trip to the theatre.
The occasion dress : Shift dresses are the must have for any smart/casual occasion. The shape provides structure whilst flattering your figure perfectly! Just because its smart/casual doesn’t mean you have to wear black.
You can wear any colour you wish, just make sure it suits you!

A court shoe is perfect here. Be brave & wear red court shoes to compliment the dress!

Cocktail
These less formal parties are perfect to show your cocktail dresses. Often knee length and playful you can experiment with your look to create the perfect party dress!
