Next year’s ranges – inspiration from the Big Apple

Hot home & living looks for 2012!

New York buyer trip

Our Home & Living buyer Carey Pinder recently travelled to the Big Apple to seek inspiration for our 2012 home and living range. She visited all the famous American Department stores such as Macys and Bloomingdales to see what styles are all the rage in the US home right now. We’ve put together a few shots of her findings to give you a sneak Preview of what looks helped inspire our 2012 home range.

Carey told us a bit about what you can expect from Kaleidoscope’s range, inspired by U.S home style:

“New York has the most amazing department stores! It’s great to go there and check out the trends and there’s so much variety. I’m not giving too much away about 2012’s range as we’re still putting our finishing touches to the designs but you can expect feminine bedrooms, bright silk fabrics, contemporary florals and some top secret trends that will knock your socks off.”

 Interestingly, Carey added:

“And it’s not just the home ranges that inspire us! We know from experience than whatever trend is fashionable for clothing will eventually translate into the home. For example Monochrome fashion was big a few years ago which is where the huge trend for black & white homes items came from – now there’s even black & white Xmas trees! By looking at American fashions you can predict what prints, colours and fabrics will be hot home news in the future, so we can design our ranges to be bang-on trend. All this so that Kaleidoscope customers can be at the forefront of home fashions. Next year it seems the ‘prints’ movement steps up a notch and honestly…we can’t wait!”

Here’s some of the prints that will be inspiring your 2012 home and wardrobe. Be bold!
