Alfresco Summer Evenings

Posted In: Home and Lifestyle

What could be better than those long, lazy summer evenings spent with family enjoying delicious food and refreshing drinks? Make the most of outdoor living this season with a little alfresco inspiration…

Take The Indoors Out

Bringing the outdoors in is a tried and tested formula for freshening up your interiors but it’s absolutely worth taking those interiors outside too. Make your garden stand out with inviting comfy outdoor furniture, cosy spots, cushions, blankets and all the home comforts that are perfect for relaxing with a drink in hand, basking in the glow of the sunset. Why not start by creating a comfy corner with a weatherproof sofa? Not bad if you forget to cover it after enjoying all day in the sun!

Beautify your Back Garden

Just a few small details can completely transform your garden into a summer-infused, welcoming space for entertaining. Brighten it up with bunting, or make a grand statement with garden ornaments. Even try something new with a striking outdoor wall canvas.

Light it Up

The evening doesn’t have to end when the sun sets, so keep the fun going with plenty of outdoor lighting. Twinkling lanterns look beautiful strung through trees, while solar powered bollard lights are ideal for marking out seating and dining areas.

A Simple Menu

What you decide to eat is just as important as the stage you set, but luckily alfresco dining can be as simple as you like! You can enjoy good food and company instead of spending hours, and hours in the kitchen.  Tapas style food is ideal those tropical summer evenings; light portions are perfect for hot weather and that sharing approach is just right for any casual or formal garden gatherings. Think cured meats, grilled vegetables, savoury snacks on sticks (known as ‘Pintxos’ if you’re out to impress!), dips, oil and plenty of bread to mop up all that flavour.

Setting The Table

Give your table settings a summer-inspired, alfresco spin with some eye-catching tableware. From colour block glass tumblers to statement cocktail glasses, use colour to infuse your garden dining area with a seriously sunny disposition. Take a little inspiration from the Mediterranean and serve your food on our beautiful, hand painted-style plates.

How will you enjoy your alfresco evenings this summer?
