At Kaleidoscope, we don’t need an excuse to drink a cocktail. In fact, we’re enjoying one right now (unless you are our

boss reading this, in which case we are working very hard and not drinking at all).

Of course, one occasion where it’s practically illegal not to enjoy a cocktail is whilst wearing a cocktail dress. Every woman needs an elegant cocktail dress in her wardrobe, as black tie and formal occasions do have a habit of appearing in your social calendar by surprise. It’s best to be prepared.

Clever cocktail dress wearers know that you don’t need to have ten different party dresses in your wardrobe to achieve a different look every time. If you’re someone who has a lot of events to go to – perhaps through work, or because you’re accompanying your partner to his or her work events, remember this essential tip. Key accessories can transform a cocktail dress!

Take this classy number – our Frill Georgette Dress. It’s a little black number and a style classic that could be the basis of your cocktail capsule wardrobe.

You can give the dress a trendy twist with some studded gladiator sandals and a large flower in your hair. Wear it the next day and make it look really different with a shimmery silver scarf around your neck and matching silver bangles. Wear it the day after that and achieve a really classic look with metallic heels and an up-do!

It’s simple – all you need to do is experiment.

Hi there, oh me oh my…oh me oh my…I know i’ve left this a little bit late in the day for organising what i’m wearing to my daughters graduationthis friday..I honestly thought i would be all sorted & ready to go..That was until i tried to slip inot a dress i had planned in my head for wearing…Til the dreaded moment of finding out its slightly tight!!! Oh golly no what have i done…haha..I’ve been so busy organising everything else going on around us that i’ve forgotten all about myself, then to find out that i’ve been eating a few more cakes than i’d like to admit to having..jings what are we like! Some things just never lie..So i’d be grateful for any ideas anybody has in helping me find something quickly to wear to her graduation ceremony, i’d be ever so grateful… Trust me to leave it til only a few days till we have to attend..

    Many many thanks Linda

    Hi Linda,
    That is unfortunate!
Luckily for you we have a wide range of options on our site that would be perfect for a graduation.
A shift dress would be perfect for the occasion, as it is formal and stylish.
Here’s our collection of shift dress –

Not only that, for a additional £3 you can pay for next day delivery. Ideal if the graduation is Friday!
I hope you find your perfect outfit.
    Best Wishes.
